Designed in supposed neo-classical style, after 50 years neither the tonal scheme nor the mechanical elements had worn well.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">With Paul Hale as Consultant to the University, DWOB has carried out a major reconstruction, including re-organizing the winding and adding six stops, resulting in an instrument of 3 manuals and 53 speaking stops (54 ranks) far better suited to the room and for the purpose.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The organ was built in 1962 by J Walker &amp; Sons Ltd, using some parts of the 4-manual, 60-rank Willis of 1902 that it replaced.
